The new music video for Nicki Minaj’s single “Starships” hit the web this morning, and we’re not sure whether it’s the CGI space ship or Nicki Minaj’s neon pink bikini that makes a bigger impression. You’ll have to watch the video and decide for yourself.
The video’s most basic premise is hardly revolutionary; there are half-naked dancing people in abundance, all celebrating club life, good times, and hot hook-ups. Minaj dances, sings, raps, and blasts through a menagerie of neon-colored clothing. The tribal island setting and outrageous colors a fun touch, and the video has a psychedelic vibe in moments.
If you like body paint and muscular shirtless guys, this is the video for you. If not — well, you’d probably better check it out anyway, because it’ll understandably be everywhere soon enough.
