Video: Star Wars Kinect for Xbox 360 includes a funny dancing game

It’s sadly not available as a digital download, and it hasn’t exactly impressed video game critics, but Star Wars Kinect for Xbox 360 has nevertheless had its 15 minutes of viral video fame thanks to a completely unexpected dancing minigame.

The dance mode is a direct copy of Dance Central, but it features Star Wars characters dancing in the galaxy far, far away to well-known pop songs adapted to the Star Wars universe. The lyrical and musical re-workings remind us a bit of Weird Al.

Stormtroopers do a number to an Imperial remix of “YMCA,” and Princess Leia rehashes Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle” as “Princess in a Battle.” Whether you find that offensively ridiculous or hilarious, here are some sample YouTube videos.

I think the best part of this is that the text indicating whether you hit the timing or not is directly over the storm troopers’ crotches. What.

I didn’t even notice that. Gotta say the Princess in a Bottle lyrics are my favorite part though.

No, no “I’m Han Solo” is the best one ever. Lando and Han in a dance battle? Yes please.
