Nook tablets get DC Comics and graphic novels

Comic books are getting the full ereader treatment, one platform at a time. A couple of weeks ago, the Kindle iPad app received support for comic books and a hefty selection of comics and graphic novels to buy, and now Barnes & Noble has announced that Nook Color and Tablet owners have access to DC Comics’ library of graphic novels.

The deal gives the Nook tablets access to 100 full-length graphic novels from DC. However, it doesn’t look like this deal between DC and Barnes & Noble covers weekly, periodical comics. That means your Wednesday geek satisfaction will have to come from somewhere else. Black-and-white e-ink readers aren’t very well suited to comics, so the Nook Simple Touch is not supported.

Titles offered include Watchmen, Batman: Year One (and numerous other Batman offerings), Y the Last Man, and many more. If you own a Nook tablet, this seems like a good way to brush up on your Batman lore before The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters.
