This morning at the E3 2012 conference in Los Angeles, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto revealed Pikmin 3, a strategy game for the new Wii U console that hits store shelves later this year.
Pikmin 3 will take advantage of the Wii U’s HD resolution (all previous consoles were standard definition or even less) to show more of the environments along with clearer visions of the cute Pikmin characters than previous games in the series.
Not too many specifics about the game have been revealed, but we do know that it will use the new Wii U GamePad touchscreen controller, and that it adds Rock Pikmin.
As previously announced, all Wii U games will be available as digital downloads on the day of their release — that includes Pikmin 3.
