Passion Pit’s new album Gossamer is now streaming at NPR

Did Passion Pit’s new single “Take a Walk” stir your curiosity when it debuted a few weeks ago? You can satisfy that curiosity by listening to the entire new Passion Pit album (titled Gossamer) streaming online for the first time today. It’s an NPR “First Listen” exclusive.

Update: Passion Pit’s Gossamer is now available on Spotify, iTunes, Rdio and more.

Gossamer is a long time coming, as it follows Passion Pit’s way-popular 2009 album Manners. That’s a three year gap, so as they say: It’d better be good. We’ll leave the judgment to you, but it’s safe to say that if you enjoyed the new direction the band took with “Take a Walk,” you’ll dig the rest of Gossamer.

It has that same mixture of sampled electronics and R&B undertones for a new take on indie rock. The childish vocals are back from Manners, too. M83‘s got some steep competition for pop rock darling of the new-ish decade.

Unfortunately, we’re not able to embed it, but you can be sure that we will once it’s available outside of NPR’s little walled content garden. Until then, you can check out the album by visiting NPR’s page for it. You can listen to individual tracks or the whole album all at once.

Gossamer will be released digitally through all the usual suspects (iTunes, Spotify, and so on) on July 24 via Columbia records.
