The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack hits iTunes, Spotify, and more today

You got your early, streaming sneak peak at composer Hans Zimmer’s ultra-dramatic The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack last week, and now you can download or stream it online through all the usual suspects, including iTunes, Amazon MP3, Spotify, Rdio, and Google Play.

As we noted when the preview stream went live, it’s every bit as foreboding and epic as the soundtracks for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight before it, though it doesn’t feature anything quite so iconic as Zimmer’s haunting drone from Inception. If you’re a Batman fan (or just a summer movie fan), giving this album a listen is a good way to get psyched up for the movie’s premiere this Friday, July 20.

Early critical response to the film seems to be positive; it’s currently sitting pretty at an 85 on Metacritic, with critics seeming to mostly agree that it’s a fine film for a summer blockbuster, but that it doesn’t have quite the same once-in-a-blue-moon energetic spark of The Dark Knight.

The download and streaming links for the soundtrack are below, but of course we’ve embedded the whole thing via Spotify right here if you just want to keep things simple. Enjoy, and let us know what you think.
