Comedian and talk show host Conan O’Brien is very bad at video games — even he’ll admit it. In fact, he doesn’t like them very much. But since his audience of young viewers likes them a lot, he’s taken to reviewing them on his late night TV show. This time, he’s tackling epic role-playing game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The amusing video evidence is below.
We couldn’t let this one pass since it’s so well-timed; the Skyrim DLC expansion pack Dawnguard is now downloadable on Steam, and Conan’s similarly silly review of indie smash hit Minecraft cracked us up just a week ago. He even helped debut Halo 4. If he wasn’t so adamant in his dislike for video games, we might be suspicious that he’s starting to get into them.
The role-playing game gets a healthy dose of jokes making fun of the lovable nerds who play them, but Conan’s snark turns self-deprecating when he fails to impress a beautiful woman in the game and is repeatedly brutalized by angry city guards. You’d think the six-foot-four, pale-skinned comedian would fit perfectly in a land of ice-cold vikings!
