Game-maker Rovio is trying to milk its huge Angry Birds success for all it’s worth. First, it announced an insterstellar version of Angry Birds with tons of new levels and gameplay ideas, then it used the Angry Birds name to promote its latest, Amazing Alex. Now there’s a full-on spin-off called Bad Piggies, which is focused entirely on the villains of the Angry Birds franchise.
The game was unveiled in an article in marketing and tech publication FastCompany yesterday, and it now has Twitter and Facebook Pages with a modicum of new information. Not much is known about the gameplay (the video trailer below is not very helpful) except that it tasks you the player with building a vehicle through an easy-to-use interface. That vehicle then travels through a course to collect up to three stars, but if it crashes before it succeeds, you’re back at square one.
Rovio told FastCompany that it plans to support this game for a long time to come as a “sister” product to Angry Birds. If the Rovio team members have their way, you’ll be seeing a lot of Bad Piggies in the months to come.
Bad Piggies will launch on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Android, and Mac on September 27. Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 versions will follow some undetermined time in the future. Check out the trailer below if you’re craving more.
